PSP investigating after woman's body found in Westmoreland County pond

Westmoreland County, PA — State police say they have launched a death investigation after a woman's body was found in a Westmoreland County pond.

Troopers say authorities were dispatched late Monday morning to an area along Broadview Road, in New Stanton Borough, for reports of "an object" floating in the pond.

Upon further investigation, authorities say the "object" was determined to be a deceased female.

Police described the woman as being approximately 5’04” to 5’05” tall with several tattoos, including one of a cat on her left thigh.

Troopers say they have since identified the woman and her next-of-kin has been notified, however, her name is being withheld at this time.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing at this time.
