Las Vegas, NV (CNN) — A Nevada man arrested for a series of wrong-way crashes last week had a bizarre explanation for the judge when he appeared in court. Daniel Asseff said the late NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt instructed him to drive the wrong way on the Las Vegas 215 Beltway. The incident last Friday resulted in multiple accidents involving cars and cyclists. Prosecutors accuse Asseff of deliberately trying to hit vehicles and pedestrians.
