YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A York County man is behind bars after being identified as the suspect in a double homicide in Maryland.
According to Maryland authorities, the incident happened on the 1700 block of Scott Road in Pylesville Saturday evening. When police arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.
Officials say both men died at the scene with the family dog also being shot and killed.
Authorities identified the victims as Timothy Witherite, 62, and David Octavec, 70, of Pylesville.
The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Steven Nolan of Airville, was taken in by Pennsylvania State Police without incident around two hours after the killings.
Authorities are still investigating the motive, however they say information indicates Nolan shot Witherite inside the home and shot Octavec outside it before fleeing.
The incident is still under investigation.
